It has always been my wish to write a book whose ideas will remain relevant to a reader in
years to come. I have lived for 9 decades on earth, and I couldn't have found a better time to
do this than now. For living this long, it will only be apt for my book to present my
life's experiences from where you can pick lessons and ideas relatable to your journey too.
This book, which largely has its setting as Lagos, Nigeria, will take you across my journey –
early days, business exploits, leadership and societal impacts while presenting a lucid picture
of the socio-economic and political atmosphere of the country in times past. To let you into
the stages of my story, I have divided this book into a number of interconnected short stories,
and adopted elements of an historical narration. I have also presented events chronologically
in order to achieve a more orderly account.
For so long, I have held on to the 121st principle in a classic Isaac Pitman’s shorthand
instructional book. It says “if you want to get gold, you must dig deeper. It is not gotten
on a surface”. I believe every man is a sojourner across life’s boulevard in search of
fulfillment. As you read, I do hope you find some powerful business tenets, lines worthy of
note, and tactics to win. I do hope you find the power from my book to dig deeper.
