Pa David Adeoti Edun, born on January 13, 1932, in Abule Nla, Ogun State, is a Nigerian serial entrepreneur who began his business exploits in the pre-independence era in Lagos, Nigeria. His business feats extended to commercial typewriting and shorthand (at the time it was needed most as the language of business by (Lagosians), supply of office machinery, fashion, importation, sawmilling, printing, manufacture of domestic products, real estate, among others. Till present, he remains a great grandfather and business icon who has witnessed the series of socio-economic developments in Lagos, the most commercial city in Nigeria, from the days of military administrations in Nigeria to the present days of democracy.
In his days as a young businessman, Pa David Adeoti Edun was appointed as the general secretary of the Lagos Merchandise Trader’s Association, which was the most populous body that represented the interests of traders across the Lagos Island and the mainland. He was known across central market districts on the Lagos Island not only as a devoted businessman but as one who fought for the interests of all by agitating for favorable government policies for traders of his era.
An activist, Pa David Adeoti Edun was an ally and confidant of the prominent dramatist and songwriter, late Sir Hubert Ogunde, and had a cordial relationship with the late senior lawyer and human rights activist, Chief Adeniran Ogunsanya.
He is blessed with two wives - Funmilayo Edun and Ogunbunmi Edun – children who imbibed his business skills and acumen, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
